I finally dared to load my latest batch into the kiln. I am so far from functional ceramics but this time I decided to experiment and I am so curious to see the results.
These are a few things in their original state before they went into the kiln:
- Cat shaped bowl. I am so much a fan of this one - it is blue, well, my favourite colour, it is cat shaped, it is whimsical, has a tiny heart inside, well, it's full of love :) and also it is made of porcelain! I hate this material so much as it crackles like crazy but love so much finished products made from it. So, have no choice but to learn to love it:
- These mugs are hilarious. I definitely let myself go and create crazy cat patterns directly on the mugs without preplanning them or anything like that. A cat head pattern or cute kitty patterns are sure to create a whimsical and happy mood. The two mugs with handles are made form stoneware and the tumbler/glass is made from porcelain. I have to tell you a secret - it was a mug until I destroyed its handle. Well, clumsy me cannot do a batch without destroying something. I had to save the day by turning the mug into a cute little espresso cup
- My favourite leopard cats - I just love all the happiness they create with their whimsical presence. And again my favourite blue spots are there to spread a little bit of calmness - but those faces won't let that calmness to settle in
- Mini leopard cat shaped vases - I loaded 20 of these. The first mini vases I made were pretty bad as they couldn't hold the flowers at all. These ones, on the other hand, are just perfect!
- A ton of cat ring dishes - my bestseller! I totally agree with everyone that they are cute but this time I decided to give my tiny kitty dishes a company of two more sized kitties. Now I am firing tiny, small and medium cat dishes. I can't wait to see what they look like in the end.
I can't wait to see them after their glaze firing. I hope it goes well enough and these creations turn out great!
